A Living, Breathing Human Being!
May. 6th, 2019 08:08 amI thought I'd go ahead and get this journal started (again)! Apparently, I posted once here in 2012 and never came back. But I thought I might get this going (there are LJ communities that I'm in and love that may be migrating here sometime in the future).
So much has happened since I last posted here in 2012:
*New niece: my sister had a second child, a baby girl, June 1, 2017. She will be two years old this year. My oldest niece will be eight in October. And I will hit the big 4-0 this July!
*New job: I finally quit the hotel and got a job at my local nursing home. I work in housekeeping/laundry. I adore the Olds. They're so funny! Some have dementia, so they say what ever is on their minds. Of course, even the ones who DON'T have dementia say whatever they want and it's hilarious!
*New apartment: almost two years ago, I bit the bullet and had to move out of my parents' house. I now have a very nice little apartment in a very quiet neighborhood. Even my neighbors are quiet! I haven't had a problem with anyone at all.
*New fandom: I have discovered Japanese stage-plays and it all started because I re-read my Saiyuki mangas and re-watched my Saiyuki anime and decided to look up more about them. So, I discovered the Saiyuki Stage-plays on YouTube and fell down the rabbit hole of Japanese stage-plays. Some of which are on DVD, so I have bought a few. (My Icon is Shun Mikami as Koumyou Sanzo from the Saiyuki: Burial Stage-play. He's one of my favorites!)
*New language: I discovered DuoLingo and have been having fun learning Japanese, Spanish, Korean, and Russian. I'm by far more interested in the Japanese language right now, but I'm still working on the others.
Well, that's all I can think of to say (write) right now. Ja ne! (Later!)
ETA: I have added another language to my DuoLingo course: Dutch!
